Ebay closed return after return is delivered same day, i am not given time to inspect the item!!!!

eBay closed the return without any explanation in favor of buyer after return item was delivered same day back to me, eBay is abusing its own return policy. its ridiculous. can any body suggest what can be done? or any body faced same situation?

You offer Free Returns and eBay didn't allow you to inspect the item before refunding? That is  bad. What's up?

if seller offer free returns or not, seller has to be given enough time to inspect the item before issue refund as per normal return policy. ebay is just messing up with its own policies, i call helpline and there is no explanation on it. its just frustrating.

The buyer almost always wins such cases so no need to inspect as it would do you no good anyway.

Buyer always gets a refund.  Doesn't matter what condition it comes back in.  It has happened to me several times in the past.

Same thing happened to me. After I received the item, the buyer got his refund.  I needed to know if he damaged or tampered with it.  Sure enough it had water damage and I appealed my case and lost.  Ebay protects buyers that take advantage and abuse the money back guarantee policy.

I agree. I simply pointed out that with your Free Returns policy, you should also have been allowed to inspect and even negate  a full refund, if that had been appropriate. I ship with a 30-Day Return policy, and do so for the extra layer of protection offered with it... like your Free Returns policy offers.

We've all been led to believe that these policies are in place to help sellers. Not so much, huh?

What recourse do good sellers have against shady buyers in deals like this?  Or do we just have to chalk it up?

This happened to me about two weeks ago. The buyer escalated the return into a case. Caught me by surprise because the return didn’t even arrive yet. I checked tracking and it said the package arrived at my warehouse after 5pm. But I already left for the day and was at home. The carrier must’ve dropped it off.

Basically the buyer waited literally less than 30 minutes after the package was scanned as delivered in order to escalate it to eBay saying I didn’t refund him yet... and eBay allowed the escalation.
