Ebay Standard Envelope: How Disappointing!

Since this is a forum of discussion that eBay not only allowed, but created, here goes. I have spent yesterday evening and most of this morning eradicating any mention of the eBay Standard Envelope in all my listings. WHY? Because it is an undependable shipping method that cannot be tracked and causes more confusion and loss of revenue and product than I can afford. SHAME ON YOU EBAY for rolling out what I first perceived as a brilliant idea, that soon became a debacle. Whoever developed the idea deserves kudos; whoever implemented it deserves a kick in the pants. If the same person (or committee) did both, give them both. I would rather spend my valuable (and at one time profitable) time tending to improving and growing - not backtracking and apologizing. Did you not even consult the USPS? They are either feigning ignorance or outright denying knowledge of or ability to track these. Compounding this "backtracking" is the new item specifics rollout, which reeks of the same inept planning committee? If you really read these, you should have something to say, either to me directly, or to the forum. Please defend this, if you can. BBW

Ebay Standard Envelope: How Disappointing!

The issue I am having is putting a toploader in an envelope (ebay says up to 2) and the post office says it is too rigid and i need to pay .20 for a non machine scan (per item).

Program has been a disaster from the start.  Very little actual tracking and no delivery scans.  Buyer opens case, you refund, then wait 30 days before you can open an insurance claim with an unknown entity. No one has posted, that I have seen, as to whether they actual received an insurance payout.

The tracking on these is pretty much a guesstimate from what I have seen. Under normal operating conditions these should arrive the day after you see "out for delivery".  I usually get "out for delivery" late in the afternoon and they arrive the next day. Just received one today  (22nd) that tracking said was delivered on the 19th. Not sure if this is normal but it will sure open the door for a bunch of complaints.

Ebay Standard Envelope: How Disappointing!

I was very interested in using the standard envelope program and when it became available for postcard sellers, I jumped in.  Now I am jumping out --- and not looking back.  I used the program for about one month and still don't understand how it works.  I have items that still show as "in transit" that have feedback received.  I have items still showing as stuck in my local post office after four weeks. My questions to ebay have gone unanswered - and when one of my buyers tried to follow through on undelivered "delivered" item with ebay, the manager did not even know what it was.  Another person at ebay suggested that the buyer use the tracking number on the USPS website - which does not work.  So, if ebay does not know how it works, how can we??? Nice idea - but very disappointing customer service and puzzling tracking system.
