I received a return on the 20th. Ebay sent me a notice of the return saying that I had until the 27th to inspect and issue a refund.
We've all seen how Ebay is making a big deal about how they are supporting sellers during this time by giving them 5 business days to inspect a return and issue a refund.
Apparently, that's not the case at all.
Due to the virus, I put the item in quarantine and set a reminder on my phone to check the item on the 25th and issue a refund.
Much to my shock, the customer was allowed to open a case on the 22nd, less than 48 hours after the return was received. The case was closed in the buyers favor and the entire amount was taken out of my PayPal.
Ebay's seller support is a colossal joke. The only thing they said was that I should have refunded before the case was escalated. They don't even know Ebay's own policy.
Seller beware...this is just another way that Ebay won't support you!

...eBay never support sellers...there are so many complaints from sellers posted in this forum...
...self-protection is what sellers should gear up...

Ebays stupid return policy is destroying business. They advertise the retarded money back guarantee more than they do the product. Preowned or used items have no business being in the return policy. Buyers don't read the description and then make a false claim for a return. The whole system is geared for the buyer. The seller has no options and is just forced to accept a return or they will take the money out of your account. Customer service is a joke. I am so **bleep** off right now I am about ready to smash the computer.

Ebay could just be the ebay of now instead of always trying to be something else.
How ebay lost their way and have no idea what they are and what they do is beyond me.
