Ebay Labels

Greetings everyone, I'm NOT new to Ebay selling, as I've been selling since early 2021. Anytime I make a sale I have always purchased the Ebay label and the price for the label has ALWAYS been different, sometimes cheap, sometimes expensive. Is there a way to ship the package WITHOUT purchasing the Ebay label?

You may go directly to couriers (USPS, FED EX, UPS) to pay and get your labels or use a private company like Pirate Ship. I use eBay labels for most of my items but sometimes when the system is down, i will need to use Pirate Ship. If you do purchase a label outside of eBay, you will need to add the tracking number to the item sold.

Not sure what your question is...you have to pay "someone" to get a shipping label (postage)

You do not need to use ebay, but they do offer discounted commercial rates in most instances (versus retail if you bought at the Post Office).

WITHOUT purchasing the Ebay label?

--------------------------------------

Sure. Go to the Post Office, and pay "full retail" for the label rather than paying a reduced "online label" price.

Edit to add: prices are based on size, weight, distance the item has to go. Sometimes cheaper. Sometimes more.

Edit to add again:  your choice to do as you see fit, but why will you not ship to PO boxes ?(just about the safest delivery location available)

You can buy the label elsewhere, but you're probably not going to find rates better than eBay's. More likely you'll find rates matching eBay's.

You can purchase your shipping labels anywhere you want, but might cost a little more then on Ebay.

Be sure and add the tracking numbers to the orders.

Have a great day.

As long as your buyers are paying for shipping, then essentially the label doesn't cost you anything. You get the buyer's money and you use that to pay for the label.

The question is whether you want to charge buyers retail rates or discounted rates. Keep in mind that you have access to discounted rates when you purchase labels on eBay regardless of how much you charge the buyer.

The setting to offer buyers discounted rates can be found on your shipping preferences page under the carrier specific discounts setting: https://www.ebay.com/ship/prf

Since eBay charges a fee on total cost buyer pays (item + ship + tax), by charging discounted rates you are losing money on every single package. If you want to make up for that you can add a handling fee or increase your item costs - or simply charge retail rates for a built in cushion instead of passing on the discounts.
