Ebay International Standard Shipping is Slow

I wanted to share information about my experience in using eBay International Standard Shipping.  

I had a small package (8 ounces) to ship from New Jersey to Argentina, so I tried eBay's shipping service.  It was slow and indirect.

I shipped the item from NJ on 11/9 and the package arrived at eBay's center in Kentucky on 11/11.  Then it went to a DHL distribution center in Illinois on 11/13, then to another DHL site in Chicago on 11/17.  DHL then shipped it to Germany (!) where it arrived on 11/30.  By 12/15 it was in Argentina and my buyer got it 12/19.

So it took 40 days and many stops to get to its destination.

Based on this experience, I doubt I will risk using this service again just to save a few dollars.

Shipped on Nov. 1st.  It is now the 21st and tracking still says it's at the consolidation center.  

Last time (another order) I shipped to Philippines and order took so long I still don't know where it is because it was over 60 days.
