Ebay HIDES FIRST CLASS SHIPPING OPTION-USE PAYPAL LABELS INSTEAD!

I sold item right before bed, so wanted to do quick packaging and take it to drop tomorrow.  Item was sold for $20, free shipping.  I tried to print a label for over an HOUR, and couldn't find First Class Package Option!   No matter what I tried, I kept getting forced to ship for $7.35 by using USPS Parcel Ship?  To a location 120 miles from me? First Class package would be $2.66!

Found a 2015 posting about trying to ship a small item and having trouble...and the Community reply gave a link to PayPal Shipping.  I jotted down buyer's address, and even tried my USPS account, still no First Class option!  Jumped to PayPal, and had it done correctly in 5 minutes.  Copied the tracking number, and pasted it on the sold listing on Ebay.  The listing info instantly updated!

Had to tell you before I went to bed.  I'm so mad at Ebay right now.  My advice to you all:

Ship with PayPal instead.  Get much better price and quick printing!

I'll never use Ebay labels again.  I already bookmarked the PayPal shipping page.

Happy Holidays,

Dawn

If your declared package weight on the Shipping form is higher than 15.999 ounces, First Class Package will not appear as an option since you cannot buy a domestic First Class Package label for that much weight.

Your Swarovski crystal star doesn't look like it would be more than a few ounces after packaging. If you plug in a weight of 0 pounds and 6 ounces (for example), and click the Update button, the screen should refresh and now include First Class Package as an option. (If it doesn't, try clicking the "Compare all services" link at the bottom of the screen.)

Your listing shows Parcel Select Ground as the shipping option, but you should have been able to override it by viewing all services.  As long as the weight entered is correct, First Class should've shown up.

Agreed. I think the key problem here is that designating a Shipping weight of "1 pound or more" in the listing form will block you from selecting First Class Package for domestic shipment, since 1 pound or more exceeds the USPS limit for that method. Once you declare the package weight as zero pounds and some ounces, then First Class Package comes up as an optiom.

I had an unpaid pending shipment on a lightweight item last night, so I had an opportunity to try messing about with the package weight in the Shipping form, and I was able to verify that when I boosted its Shipping weight to something above one pound, the First Class Package method I was planning to use would disappear from the menu.

I just printed five First Class shipping labels so I can confirm that it is still there just as it's supposed to be.  For the sixth item where I selected a weight of over 1 lb, however, it did not give me an option for First Class because the item is too heavy to go First Class.

What size package did you input?

I ask because the post office says the maximum length for FCM is 24"  BUT  if you enter 24" eBay will not show FCM. If you change it to 23" then FCM does show. So it may not be the weight, but the size.

DMM says, "does not exceed 22 inches in length, or 18 inches in width, or 15 inches in thickness".

Why weren't you printing the labels from Paypal all along? I mean, you check to see if you have been paid for the item on Paypal, so if you are already there, why not print the shipping label then and save some time?

It's the new label flow. It requires weight (and sometimes dimensions) before it will show the correct shipping methods.

I find this sometimes on old listings which I haven't updated since the last FCP zoned upgrade.

If you print from Paypal, you still need to return to ebay  and hand input the tracking number in (showing that you shipped it)

That is correct. No need to go back to eBay to enter.

Only thing is that there is a delay in it populating from PP to the eBay listing.
