ESE with multiple orders - question about shipping labels

I listed two items separately, one with 2 oz ESE shiipping and the other with 3 oz ESE shipping. Both were won by the same bidder (total way under $20 limit). eBay combined the two into a single invoice. I don't want to "combine" shipping because it would be a 5 oz package which would have to ship by Ground Advantage, more expensive than shipping the two items individually using ESE.

I bought one label for 2 oz ESE and when I went to buy the next label. eBay added to the shipping form "You have already purchased a label for this order. " I ignored that and went through the motions and was able to buy another label from the original invoice, with a different tracking number.

As a side note, on my "payments" page, where it usually says "Completed" right after I buy a label, for this transaction it says "To be completed June 9" (today is June 8). So all seems well (so far), but this is the first time I've dealt with this so I'm wondering if I did things right. Any thoughts?

@mistercrow

With 2 different tracking numbers, you should be okay.

But, just to be safe, let your buyer know what's going on, with the reason you were unable to combine shipments (the weight limitation for single ESE shipments).

Please keep us updated.

ESE with multiple orders - question about shipping labels

I think all is well. Today June 9 my Payments / Activity page had been updated and there were separate entries for the two Ebay Standard Envelope items. Both said "Shipping label for order no. 04-13185-xxxxx," with separate ESE charges for the two different tracking numbers. The take-away seems to be that if you have multiple ESE items won by a buyer, eBay will send a combined invoice, but all the seller has to do is pay for separate labels, with different tracking numbers. At least it seems to have worked out okay this time. 😊
