EIS Question

I've been enrolled in EIS for some time. I'm aware of only one item that went to Australia. My listings show me only the US in the shipping dropdown box. I have a potential buyer in France who does not have the option to choose France. Ebay shows my "listing will show up for buyers worldwide." I assumed there was nothing more for me to do. Shipping preferences shows I'm enrolled. Then in settings all 227 international locations are excluded as before EIS. Do I need to edit that list? If I do, is EIS still the default? I can no longer handle international shipping myself. I'm only interested if EIS handles it.

If France is not blocked on your exclusions list then yes, the dollar amount can be the problem. While the eIS program limit is fairly high, an individual seller's (hidden) limits may not be. That $800 banjo is much higher than your other inventory which can also be a contributing factor.

Double-check your listing settings to make sure the country is not excluded. Other than that, nothing you can really do if eIS is not appearing other than ship direct if you're willing to take that risk on that $$$ item.

If you exclude locations they are excluded. Full stop.

If you want to ship to France, or anywhere else using eIS, you cannot exclude them. So the answer is yes, you need to edit that list and yes, as long as you don't set up a direct shipping method eIS will be the default.

EIS Question

Thank you for responding. I edited the shipping countries for that listing and a few others. The small items do offer the France option, but the one with buyer interest does not. The cost is $799. I've been a small seller since the '90s, always in good standing. Buyer says he's purchase banjos from the US before and thanked me for trying. Could the dollar amount be the problem? Maybe I'm too small a seller.

EIS Question

You've been so helpful, wastingtime, Thanks again! France is not excluded. I hate to disappoint the man in France, but at my age, no more direct international shipping for me.

EIS Question

No problem, wish there was more we could do here.

The only other thing coming to mind is you can suggest if the buyer really wants it, then can use a US-based freight forwarder. Having a package forwarded voids the buyer's eBay Money Back Guarantee so they should be sure to pick a FF that will cover shipping loss/damage.

EIS Question

Thanks for reminding me of that. We used a forwarding service when we lived on Margarita Island. I'll suggest it to him. I sometimes recognize a freight forwarder's address when I sell something on my other marketplace. Between my secure packing and the heavy box, it would have to be run over by a truck to be damaged. A forwarder would also know about the country's packaging requirements. He seemed anxious to get it, so it might be a good idea. Thanks again.
