EBay Print Label Screen Does not default to my terms

The new eBay label page has a few quirks (UX at eBay needs to up their game). However, to day I ran into something infuriating.

The shipping choices that first appear an populate are not eve shipping choices I offer. In one case (International), I go to print label and the option that populates in International Express Flat Rate. I had only offered Priority calculated by weight and size. The price difference $50 in the USPS favor.

In the second case similar (domestic), a higher price service came up for express even though the it indicated that the buyer had selected priority. Why would they offer a different price then the buyer selected and paid for?

Oh, maybe its because the USPS had cut a deal with eBay to try and up sell.  Like when you rent a car and they rty to get you UG to something more expensive at the counter.

I'll take a screen shot next time.

Plus just find the service you want on the new interface is horrible design.

So word of caution do click blindly on a label page you could end up spending much more then you anticipate.

I noticed the same thing. I use Media Mail all the time, and that should be my default shipping option when printing the label, but recently it's defaulting to 1st class or Priority.  I give my buyers 2 choices: Media Mail or First Class.  They are all picking Media Mail. Not my fault if it takes longer.

Just FYI - the blank tapes youre selling do not qualify for Media Mail. All the prerecorded ones are fine because they have sound recordings on them but the new blank ones are just merchandise. Blank CDs are the same way. They do qualify for Media Mail as long as they have picture or sound recordings on them.

To tell the truth I would not offer Media Mail right now anyway because there is no SLOWER method for shipping and the post office is having enough problems as it is with 1st Class. Media Mail can stay up to 3 days at any location before it must go on the next truck out. I would offer 1st class for all those items that are light enough to qualify.

Unfortunately, many of my buyers are cheapskates. They don't want to pay for First Class mail. I do offer it. They have a choice: Media Mail ($3.25) or First Class ($4.00).  Take a guess which one they are all picking.

Isn't that crazy that a blank does not qualify but then something with anything on it,  which taken by some could be seen as advertising does? Am I the only one that finds that ironic? Realistically almost everything has some form of advertising whether it be for the Author or publisher or company that produced it.

Kind of like a 100 year old brochure because it has advertising for a company long defunct.  Doesn't it become educational material at that point as you can no longer buy the item from the company because they not only do not make it,  but haven't been in business for nearly a Century.

I had the same issue. The buyer paid for USPS 7.55 and when i went to print the label it marked it as Priority 2 day. I tried to go back in and find USPS but it wasn't there. What happens now? I tried to stop it before the first printing but it said it was printed, so I had to go back in and reprint. Do I have to pay the extra out of my pocket?

I had another problem with another label but I think that was me putting the wrong zipcode in. I got stuck paying a little more on that one.
