EBAY Shipping labels not allow you to add signature confirmation on expensive packages

so on when i go to print out a USPS label from ebay and try to add "signature confirmation" on it , the price says $0.00 and says its added ,untill you print out the label ,and the reciept, it doesnt say sig. confirmation on the label or reciept, this also only happens on expensive items AND only when you choose to insure your item through USPS. if you choose "shipcover insurance" yes it lets you add signature confirmation on it BUT they only insure you up to $1000 , the item i sold was more then that, just wondering if its a bug or something, i mean you have to add signature confirmation on everything over $750 BUT what if it doesnt let you?

EBAY Shipping labels not allow you to add signature confirmation on expensive packages

i found a old post from 2018 with this exact same problem, aparently usps gives you free signature confirmation after $500 of insurance bought, BUT thats not the normal "signature confirmation" and may or may not be acceptable to ebay (the answer was never given in the post i found , and no answer in the signature confirmation policies either )

There are two conditions under which the carrier may collect a signature: a package insured for $500 or more, or a package carrying a Signature Confirmation surcharge (regardless of package value). It's the latter that eBay expects to see in order to give Seller Protection in Item Not Received disputes for sales of $750 or more. I thought that the Signature Confirmation option is now pre-checked when buying an eBay label for a shipment of $750 or more, but I don't have any recent first-hand knowledge about that.

The signature collected for insurance purposes on shipments of $500 or more is for USPS' own internal records, and that signature is not visible on-line. As for the optional Signature Confirmation service, I don't know if the shipping label shows a Signature Confirmation indicator in plain text anymore (it used to have special wording above the barcode, but I don't think that appears anymore), but certainly the carrier's scanner should trigger an alert when scanning a package for which a signature is required (regardless of the reason).

You might also try verifying on USPS.com whether your package has a Signature requirement: plug in your tracking number there, and then on the results page, scroll down to the Product Information section about your package, and expand that. That will show what class of postage was purchased, and (I think) should also show if a signature will be collected.

you are right on all that, i think its a glitch that need to be fixed , because it wasnt doing that before, its probably the $500 of insurance purchased and you get free signature comfirmation from USPS doing it,because i can see this has happened a couple times ,and in all the discussions all the info you said was true But i never found a answer from Ebay , i hope they fix that soon.

The USPS will generate a barcode label that says, "Signature Tracking" (not "Insured") for Insured items over X amount of dollars. Is it $500? I wondered about the verbiage myself.

If you have a USPS online account, you can request an email of the signature scan be sent out for Proof of Delivery, provided you request it before delivery. It is sent very fast, just a few minutes after it is actually signed for.

You can buy a shipping label from Pirate Ship and choose whatever options you want, including private insurance over $1,000.

Yes, "Signature Tracking" for an Insured item would most certainly have to be accepted as proof of delivery in  dispute. That's what it's for, after all. I particularly like the .pdf of the actual signature at delivery. In a dispute this would be important.

The answer is No.

1. eBay,

2. buyer,

3. and seller

all must see that the item was signed for IN THE TRACKING --

and the sender-requested, not-online PDF signature for insurance does not qualify.

eBay doesn't accept Proof of Delivery from the USPS?

How does this make any sense? I believe you, don't misunderstand. Seems prett crazed to me. This is what they sent me after I requested Proof Of Delivery.

Thank you for requesting a Proof of Delivery letter on your shipment.

above are the 2 different insurance and you notice the 1st screen shot is usps and the signature confirmation box is checked but the amount paid is $0, is ebay gonna accept that in a dispute , i posted this post a few months ago and still it says $0 when you get over $500 insurance.. if ebay wont accept that signature confirmation then they need to fix that.
