I sell vintage Barbies and her clothes, but eBay is giving my things away and making me refund money because of things not being delivered.
Finland has held up mail, my customer didn't get her item. She makes a case it's been almost two weeks- eBay forces the refund and she'll get to keep my item.
I have another customer open a case because it's been a week....I'm being threatened by ebay about refunding and "take care of your customer"! The vintage outfit is over 100.00, she'll get to keep her money AND my item!
WHAT THE HELL?

Alas! With the current state of international shipping owing to the effects of the pandemic, I would advise against International Shipping at this time.

I feel ya. It is a strange time...
With that being said... is there a way you can keep the lines open and friendly with your buyers? If they bought your things I'd like to think they want your things. Maybe when the do arrive, your buyers will square up with you.
Stay in touch with them. You know where you stand now... what have you got to lose?

Yeah, the clog with international shipping is definitely causing a lot of losses ... hopefully you have these international sales insured. Still, why in the world are you still selling internationally?

I am so sorry to hear what you are going through. I am a buyer here and a seller on Etsy in the US. Shipping is really out of whack now, especially international sales. I just had a buyer from Mauritius and had to ship a $400 item to them. I ended up having to cancel the sale because I found out that certain international countries are suspending and shutting down their mailing centers and are not accepting packages from the US right now. There is also a list of countries that the US is now not shipping to either. I had no idea until I went to ship this package today.
Maybe Finland is suspending the receipt of US packages right now. This is a nightmare for you and I feel bad for you.
As a buyer, 80% of my items have been late or have not arrived yet and are seriously over due. I am being as patient as I can with my ebay sellers. The only issue I have as a buyer is if my item doesn't arrive by the 29th day after purchasing my item, I will have no choice but to file a not received claim against them. However, if my item is just two or three weeks late, I am being as patient as I can.
Sadly, most buyers won't be as understanding. This is where the problem arises. Ebay knows what is going on and is doing nothing for buyers or sellers here. With the major delays in shipping I feel ebay should work with both their buyers and sellers in fair and balanced way.
All they would have to do is tack on another week or two to the buyer protection if people's packages haven't arrived within 30 days. With the added time, they have a better chance of arriving. For me as a buyer, if I don't file a complaint for an item not received before the 30th day passes, I lose my buyer protection and I am possibly out my item and my money.
However, if Ebay would just tack on more time to give these late packages a chance to arrive, as a buyer I would be more patient and less likely to file a claim against my seller. This is a hot mess! As a matter of fact one of my items I just purchased is MIA. It has been sitting in St. Louis (the seller's state) for close to two weeks without progressing. If my package doesn't come by June 7th, and I don't file against my seller, I will lose my protection.
Ebay really needs to do something that benefits the buyers and sellers during this Pandemic. I wish you much luck.

I feel certain that one will pay me, the other two are from other countries and don't believe they will.
Yes, you're right about keeping the lines open! I am going to do that, definitely. I appreciate that SO much.
Advice is gold, to me.

The mail in Finland is held up because of this virus, therefore she made a case, instead of contacting me, and wants the refund because it's two weeks overdue. EBAY gave her the refund. When it shows up at her door she'll get to keep it.
Another #&_## checked her tracking, the package was held in one facility for nearly a week, but says it's in transit. She opens a case, tells eBay to "have the seller call the post office and nudge them"....oh hell yeah, i can make USPS move faster!?!
I get the message from eBay to "take care of my customer", or they will refund her on the 27th.
I'm **bleep**. I support my son, a disabled Navy Veteran, and these SOB's are going to break me!

As a buyer this is something that is valuable to me. My seller of an item that has gone missing/late is acting concerned and talking to me constantly through ebay's messaging system. To me as a buyer, this calms me down and eases me since I am worried. You sound like a good seller. Dialogue really helps your buyer feel like you care and are trying to get issues like this solved. That is golden and may stop them from filing claims. Good luck OP.

Do you meant the fact that all sellers are held responsible for the item until it gets delivered? It has been that way as far back as I remember. Maybe this will help.

Here is what I found in regards to missing international mail:
It covers:
Global Express Guaranteed, Priority Mail Express International, Priority Mail International parcels, and Registered Mail items. The Postal Service does not accept inquiries for ordinary letters, First-Class Package International Service parcels, Priority Mail International Flat Rate Envelopes, Priority Mail International Small Flat Rate Priced Boxes, or M-bags.

nooooooooooooooo
I'm talking about that since the Covid-19 shut down most of the country, eBay has come and allowed an extension (extra days) to shipping. Shipping has been delayed due to this pandemic.
Never mind, I guess I just explained it. I just thought you had the notice.

All of the announcements regarding that are on the announcement board anytime you need them.
https://community.ebay.com/t5/Announcements/bg-p/Announcements
You can subscribe to the announcement board so that you get an email anytime an announcement is made. If you aren't sure of how to do that, I'd be happy to give you or anyone else the instructions on how to do that.
