Hi,
i shipped a buyer what was in description and the package has been delivered, but he is accusing me that i shipped and item which has almost 1/5 lower value of my item or maybe less.

 

after buyer took a fake picture which wasn't the item i shipped, i am being forced to accept the return.

i have all the documental, visual, digital proofs but ebay even don't let me to share these to appeal this decision.

 

i talked to customer service but they told me i should wait until return has been done then i would say this is not the item i shipped to buyer. but i don't understand a point; didn't ebay already made a decision that i shipped a wrong item and forced me to accept the return.

how can i appeal the decision at this situation. 

please someone enlighten me.

I'm having this same problem with a buyer now. I'll wait and see what he returns first. But he sent me a photo of what he said he received and what I sent him (a coin), which obviously he is trying to switch a lesser value item for what I sent him.

I have found a lack of help from Ebay. I had a situation where they buyer claimed the item was not as described. Instead of fighting it I took the easy way and decided to accept the return. Once the item was returned I inserted it and it had been restively tampered with and was in filthy condition, not even resembling the same condition I sent it in. I reported the buyer to Ebay and never got a response. 

 

Basically, I would not expect much support from Ebay as they almost always side with the buyer.

When you get the item back you will have a little time to examine it. If it is not what you sent, then you get ahold of CS. Problem is getting a rep that will listen .

Your 'No Returns' policy isn't helping you in this case. No Returns and no refunds are two different things.

 

If you are a TRS with 30-Day Returns or you offer Free Returns, you can deduct up to half the refund if you receive a different (or de-valued) item than the item shipped. I know it doesn't make you totally whole, but it helps a bit.

 

Maybe you need to revisit your Return policy. Good luck!

 

P.S. You won't win on appeal, either. The buyer's MBG trumps all.

Ebay doesn't know what you sent or what the buyer received or what the buyer sends back, and frankly I don't think they care. The buyer is protected by ebay's Money Back Guarantee,  but you are not.

 

What ebay might care about though is if you are, say,  a member from Turkey, sending items from Turkey, while stating the items are in New Jersey.

I am now dealing with a buyer with this exact same problem. Bait and switch.  Have you found a rememedy for this problem?

Just contact CS let them know the item returned is not the item you shipped. The buyer's fake pic and your listing pic are the prove. CS should then close the case in your favor. This happened to me once. Just hard to find a CS right now.

when you get the item back, check the package weight to see if is the same weight as when you sent it. that info might help you in a perfect world. the problem is you are a seller on ebay and as a seller we don't get much protection from rip off artist.

I also am in a similar problem Person Bought Items from me they were sent customer claimed not to get it sent tracking number and checked it myself  Package WAS delivered and now I find out My credit card  refunded a purchase that was delivered WITHOUT my consent    Any ideas?

 

Also any way to contact e bay directly???????????????????

If you called CS before accepting the return and refunding the buyer, Ebay probably decided for you.

When a buyer files an INAD, it's best to accept the return, provide return shipping, and once it's returned, refund buyer.

Then you can appeal and report the buyer for abusing the MBG, call CS jump up and down and scream until you turn red, white and blue, but it won't do any good.

You'll still have to refund, even if you get the wrong item back.

Ebay doesn't know what you shipped, they don't know what the buyer received and they don't know what the buyer shipped back, or what you received back.

i don't know how you find out the problem this quick. yes i have two warehouse and travelling between two countries perodically, now i was there in Turkey, and didn't want to stop business. forget to mention where i was shipping from as i was shipping from NJ before i come back here before pandemic issues.

However i am using DHL, super fast, 3-4 days delivery from here. the buyer is manipulating this fact. he is announcing me like "hey it is not shipped from NJ, so it is not the item which i purchased too"

i also shipped 10 other packages same day, all delivered, all have no issues, but ebay even didn't investigate the facts i am trying to tell. how this buyer would be a coincidence. i really hate to see someone deign to steal my garment in this way.

i contacted customer service via chat. they insist me to wait until buyer return the item. but i can not understand how would i appeal while ebay forced me to accept return as my problem wasn't "to accept a return" but the problem was "to accept a return which wasn't the item i shipped". 

i told this step by step in hours and hours and all they told me was, wait the return and tell us if the item you receive back isn't what you shipped. i lost my mind. i can't figure out.

how can i say "the returned item is what i shipped" while the buyer told ebay that "the item he received is not what he ordered" and ebay closed the return case by his favor. that basically means ebay thinks the buyer is right, will they change their decision for the buyer like "the seller told this wasn't what he shipped to you". in that case buyer has the right to say "yes this is what he shipped, you know, i told you he sent me an item which is different than the listing description and you saw it, you told me that i can return and now you say you thought wrong, what?"

i don't know how to explain this weird procedural steps. maybe it should work like that. i didn't experienced something like that before on ebay. i am quite disappointed and feel like heartbroken.

i have one perfect undeniable proof but can not show it to anyone in customer service. in the past i was able to email with customer service with visual proofs. added a few on the case but left some of them for myself to not to give buyer a chance to manipulate it. i can't find an email contact or i can't talk anyone via call. i never deign to have anyone well deserved wealth and when someone try to do i am having mixed feelings between feeling sad for him/her to feeling mad.

Unfortunately you a fighting a losing battle. Ebay ONLY cares that they buyer is happy. I have been through this several times. If the buyer uses the not a described reason for the return we as sellers are ALWAYS forced to accept it. You may report the buyer, however I really don't think that matrix goes very far. Sorry this is one of those prices of doing business on eBay.
