Did I get Scammed?

I bought an item on 07/02/17  its now 07/16/17, a few days after I purchased the item i checked the tracking number (USPS) and it says "Status Not Available" so i messaged the seller asking him if he shipped it and he says yes and this was on 07/07/17 and still till today it says status not available and I'm concerned the seller never shipped at all. I opened up a case with eBay as package not received and messaged the seller a few times if he could help and now the seller refuses to respond my messages back after he's been fairly communicate with me.  I thought maybe it was classic old USPS not scanning the package so I sent an email to customer support explaining my situation withe tracking number and the next day my local post office called me saying the tracking number says  "Status Not Available" but I already knew that so the guy said maybe the seller didn't ship it all. But the seller told me multiple times he shipped it already. Maybe I'm just being paranoid but I'm worried im getting scammed.

The bottom line here is: what was the last estimated delivery date? When that date has passed by 24 hours and you do not have your package, you can open an item not received case in the Resolution Center.  Four days later return to the case and ask eBay to step in.  If you already opened a case, don't forget to return to it and escalate.

1st, you bought it over the July 4 week end.  Depending on the sellers handling time & shipping method it hasn't really been that long.  I have a 3 day handling time so if someone had purchased from me on 7/2 I wouldn't have been required to ship it until 7/6 and that was only 6 business days ago.  Maybe you are too impatient?  If you need something in a hurry it might be better for you to purchase locally.

Yes I considered that too but it's the tracking number that worries me saying status not available

I ship over the counter and I manually enter the tracking numbers myself and I've sometimes entered a # wrong.  Now I always go back the day after mailing to make sure tracking shows something and if not I find where my mistake was made & correct it.

Maybe your sellers label got wet or something where the tracking can't be scanned due to smeared ink or they had a wrinkle in the label where the code can't be scanned~~any number of things could have happened.  Was this sent priority, 1st class, media mail?

Also, your last feedback received was from a China seller.  Was this a USA seller or a China seller?

There are MANY MANY China sellers here in the USA with warehouses to ship to the USA.  If they happen to be out of stock in their warehouse they will have the item shipped directly from China.  Could this be what is happening?  Does the tracking look like a USPS #?

if you filed a case before the ESTIMATED delivery date then this is why your seller does not communicate. as a seller i find that sometimes the tracking does not update as often as it should. if the label gets torn, wet, or even if the sellers printer is a bit lo on ink the label may not scan properly. or the tracking may update all at once at delivery. these things do not happen often but they happen. also delivery dates are esitmated & not etched in stone. waiting until a few days after the estimated delivery before filing a case is the way to go...though some may not agree.    GOOD LUCK, HOPING THINGS WORK OUT OK!

If I see "Status Not Available," it is due to USPS maintenance on the site and not the Seller not shipping.  However, you have already filed a case and as stated that could be why the seller is not responding.

Were there any updates showing prior to the Status Not Available?  Oh, and I do not think that you were scammed - it maybe just maintenance on the USPS site

No updates whatsoever from the start. I told the seller about it a few times and every time he said he'll look into it and get back to me but didn't which explains why I told him multiple times about the tracking number.

😞  I am hoping that this is not a scam.  Like I said, that notice only comes up top on the home page and the tracking page.  Hope your item arrives on time

Yeah thank you I hope so too. Hopefully it's what other people said that maybe it hasn't been updated because of damage or something wrong with the actual bar code on the box. I just have to be more patient I guess...
