Dejoy resigned today

   A few moments ago I heard on the radio news that Postmaster Dejoy has resigned.

   This is not really unexpected news, as in February he said he would, it's just that it's now finally happened.

   Changes are a-comin'... hopefully good.

Yep, he resigned when he figured out the USPS is **bleep**.  wow really that was bleeped out.🤣🙄

Seven days and still counting for a package to go three states away.🙄

Well, under normal circumstances, I would have been thrilled about this.  But these aren't normal circumstances.

Yeah, they have suggested everything from privatizing it to merging it with the commerce department. People without a plan pretending they have a plan.

@tsme35  My guess is Khoros has decided to be pro-active. These threads, if they remained on the Selling Board , would almost inevitably turn into political discussion, and Khoros would end up moving them there in the end anyway.

My tracking using postage from the post office with a clerk seems to be working...Mailed two out Thursday...one to NY and one to Nebraska...both arrived today to the buyers...without any site-seeing along the way.

Dejoy quit because the president wanted him to speed up delivery.

He was suppose to stick it out until a replacement.

This is where the privatize part might come into play of the USPS...maybe temporary.

I saw a lot of boxes with eBay tape on them sitting at the counter of the post office today...I would say about 30 boxes just sitting around for anyone to grab...dont' leave boxes at the counter guys and gals...and only two clerks who sometimes disappear in the back.

Line was about 15 people at my post office at 2 PM...I used the 'self serve' machine where the line was only 3 people. 

I am wondering about the contracts with eBay and the USPS...will it continue or get the can....

Khoros  is not a "he." It is the company that manages these Boards for eBay. And it has repeatedly moved threads that became "political" to this Board.  

I am neither defending nor disagreeing with its decision. You asked why the threads were moved, and I'm explaining why I think it happened.

Lol...I just realized one thread was moved to the eBay cafe, but this one was moved to Shipping. If it gets political, I suspect it too will end up at the Cafe. But for now, well, the USPS is about shipping, so here we are.

 I had gotten a email from  the USPS  regarding  unexplained  shipping delays  at a sorting plant  hub  in my neck of woods  here   S. Ca.   that sends mail and parcels to the PO I use. The USPS rep  gave  a caned  response  blaming  contractors   that  bring the containers from Avondale AZ. USPS plant hub  to the S. Ca. hub late  causing  1  day delay . the internal tracking system scans ,don't match the rep's  claims  .   Dejoys should have been fired back in 2021.

Why wouldn't he have stayed 5 years. Government employees get a pension after 5 years of employment if they are over 60.
