Customs/duties on $200 item?

Hi all, I recently purchased a hockey jersey from a Canadian based seller and I'm in the United States. The total cost after shipping and taxes was $200 USD. I've received items from the UK before without issues. I've read that anything under $800 for personal use is duty free. Is this still the case? I'm just worried the border and customs agents are going to seize my jersey and make me pay customs.

Thanks for your reply! So you don't think I'll have to pay anything?

You shouldn't  if they are shipping it Canada Post. If they are shipping it FedEx or UPS then those carriers may charge a broker/handling  fee in addition to applicable customs fees to clear customs.  You would not be able to retrieve the package until paid. Since customs won't  be applied you probably won't  owe anything.

Section 321 clearance states, all items under $800 do not need broker/duties/taxes. I ship 20 things a day from Canada to USA. I use UPS. There are never any additional fees
