You can not do a partial refund through eBay, you have to do it through Paypal.
BUT was the item itself damaged or only the package? Was it a collector's item where the packaging is as important as the item or was it just ordinary routine packaging? If it was ordinary packaging then what is the justification for the refund it the item was not damaged?
