Is there any way to easily change the shipping cost after the sale has already been completed and the customer has paid? Is there a way to send an invoice for the additional postage cost through Ebay or does it have to go through Paypal? Do I have to cancel the sale and have them re-purchase? I really hope not, because that seems like too much work for the customer. Thank you for anyone's time to answer this question.

You can go to your Paypal, locate the transaction and the buyers E mail address. You can then send a money request through PP for the difference.

Just send a Paypal money request or invoice for the additional postage cost.

OK thank you! I wish there was a place in Ebay to do it, would make it so much easier.

The difference in speed is only about 1 day.
If the delay (asking/responding/paying/updating) means missing the delivery deadline for outgoing mail then it would all be pointless.
I would just tell the customer their package is on it's way...

eBay has successfully convinced people that there is a qualitative difference between USPS First Class Mail and USPS Priority. They classify First Class as a Standard shipping service and Priority as an Expedited shipping service.
Trouble is, they haven't convinced the USPS of that. The USPS considers First Class Mail and Priority Mail to be the same service, with the difference being only in the terminology based on weight.

When eBay first produced the chart of "expedited," "standard" and "economy" services, First Class was categorized as expedited.
Then USPS announced that it planned to downgrade First Class shipping speed, and eBay recategorized First Class to "standard" . But it seems that the intended USPS service downgrade never actually happened.
