Hello, I'm looking on clarification on what I should be doing or if I have done something wrong.
I recieved an an item that I deemed was 'innacurately described', so I opened a case against the seller and when eBay stepped in they sided with me (2 Sep).
I was then issued the refund via PayPal which said on their site that the funds would be accessible on the 8th. I was told to wait for the funds to be clear before sending the item back. The 8th came and I had the item ready to be posted back as soon as I had finished work but midday I get an email from PayPal stating the refund had been cancelled and I could not find a reason.
Where do I now stand and what should I do. I've spoke to eBay again who are saying to "sit back" and they will get the seller to create the returns label.
I'm getting quite frustrated with this drawnout process, I was more than willing to return the item out of my own pocket to get this all over with but I feel like I cannot trust the seller with the non-communication I receive regarding cancelling refunds or if he's simply being told a different procedure to follow.
Any my help would be greatly appreciated.

What exactly does that entire message say, word-for-word?

That doesn't make sense. Can you go to the resolution center in eBay and expand the details and post them here?

Hey, thanks
On the resolution centre tab, it says "your action is required". If I then click the take action button the new page opens and all that it says is..
"The seller sent you a refund
Please wait for the refund to be processed. It should be cleared on Sep. 11.
Here's what happened
Sep. 2 :
The seller refunded you through PayPal
Sep. 2 :
A return request initiated
Sep. 2 :
Case opened
Comments
No contact from seller to resolve problem.
Aug. 24 :
You requested a return.."

This doesn't make sense because refunds are not issued first. They are issued after the item is returned unless the seller does not want the item back. Also in your OP you say the funds were to clear on 9/8 which is today but in the last response it says 9/11.
customer service lied about the label. They aren't contacting the seller. It's already a done deal since you asked eBay to step in and eBay found in your favor and issued a refund. I don't think you were told to wait for the funds to clear before returning the item. I think you were told you were not required to return the item.

SMELLY..
I don't understand those messages. Unless this is a Chinese seller---you are required to return the item to the seller BEFORE you get a refund from him. What was the first thing you filed? Did you go to the Resolution Center and file a Dispute called "Not as Described." Or did you go somewhere else first?

Yes, I did everything via the resolution centre (not as described, eBay ruled in my favour) but there was no returns address displayed or a returns label or whatever. I contacted eBay who said if he did not send me a returns label I would keep the item I believe.

I see you are in the UK and this is the US board.
Where is the seller located and did you buy it on eBay.com or UK?
If this was an international transaction, the seller would not have been able to issue a label through eBay. He may have decided to just refund you rather than go through the process of getting you the shipping costs. Or he ignored the case and eBay closed it.
The delay in the refund "processing" could be due to the currency conversion.
As for the refund reversal? I have no clue on that one. Beats the heck out me. You would have to call PayPal to find out who revered it and why.
