I listed a flute in an auction and a buyer inquired about the 'buy it now' price. I told them that the buy it now price was $200 and that this was the minimum I'd accept to end the auction early. They told me about their difficulty finding an affordable flute, so I wanted to help. The buyer then proposed that I end the listing early and sell to them after they placed the highest bid. The highest bid was 113.50, so the buyer suggested I start a new listing for the flute's case for $86.50, which would bring the total to $200, the minimum amount I was willing to accept for the flute (which was already going to come packaged in the case anyway). I agreed. The buyer paid for both items and I am getting ready to ship.
How do I combine these orders so that I can send them as one shipment? I see that it is possible to combine shipping in the seller hub, but that option means I'd have to print the label myself. I cannot do this as I do not know the dimensions or weight of the package, and I prefer creating labels at the post office where they can weigh the item and provide the appropriate sized box.

@sheleton You only need to combine two separate transactions if you are shipping together so that the buyer only pays one time for shipping. However since both are free shipping anyways, there is no need for you to combine them.
After you ship them together you simply go back to each item in your orders page. Write in the exact tracking number from the package, copy & paste into each transaction and marked them as shipped. Then you are all set, buyer receives them in one package and tracking shows for each transaction. Best of luck to you....

Would be an extra trip to the PO, but you could go there for a box, and get the packaged weight.
Come home, and print the combined label for that online shipping label discount.

I agree. Ebay's and Pirate Ship online shipping can make a big difference in what you have to pay for shipping especially since free shipping was offered.

>How do I combine these orders so that I can send them as one shipment?
First go here,
https://www.ebay.com/sh/ord/?filter=status:ALL_ORDERS
and click the box on the items you want to ship together. Then click on the "Shipping" drop-down and select "Purchase shipping label". That should take you here,
https://gslblui.ebay.com/gslblui/bulk
Click the boxes on the items you want to ship together and click on the "Combine" box. Next select the shipping service and fill in the other info (size, weight, etc.) and when you are finished click on the "Purchase label" box and you should be taken to the Print Label page. HTH.

Um, yes you can, I do this all the time. I specialize in selling small doll outfits and accessories so I constantly have buyers purchasing multiple separate items. I always combine them together and if they have paid separately I simply go back and enter the SAME EXACT tracking number on each transaction. Not once has this been an issue. The items WERE shipped TOGETHER in the same package so why couldn't the same tracking number be used? I'm not understanding why you are saying you cannot....

When you find out @sheleton that you cannot use the same tracking number for both items, please come back and unmark the wrong answer?
Sure @sheleton can... it's done here all the time. The solution marked is correct... no worries.

Of course you can use the same tracking number for both items. What do you think a combined shipment IS?
In seller hub you can print a label for the package for any item that will be in that package. After that you use the Actions column for each of the other items in the package. First click the Mark as shipped option for the additional item. Then click the Add tracking number and paste in the number from the label and the carrier that you are using. Thats all there is to it.

And it always works unless eBay happens to be broken!
