Combined shipping

Question to the topic of combined shipping.  I realize this may be really hard to answer. Is there an Ebay or seller standard for the amount of discount provided for combined shipping?    For example, I am considering combine all item weights and subtract 16 ounces.   Or is there a better way to do it.  I appreciate any help with this as I am sort of new to selling and want to stay within the community norm.

Thanks again

I see that combined shipping was explained to you in another thread so I won't get into that.  Perhaps I'm getting the wrong impression, but you seem to think that you need to combine shipping and subtract an amount and I don't think that is true in most cases.  For example, if you are using calculated shipping and you set up a combined shipping rule to add together the weights, the total given to the buyer should be fairly accurate unless the added items cause you to use a bigger box or use a different service.

For example, if you sell an item that is 3 ounces and 5 ounces, the calculator would charge the buyer for an 8 ounce packages.  You don't need to add or subtract anything.

Perhaps I'm missing something in which case I'm sure that someone will correct me or explain. 🙂

Combined shipping

No standard discount, and in fact, there's no requirement for sellers to combine shipping or if they do combine, no requirement for them to reduce the price.
