I've been searching for the correct answer but not getting what I'm looking for.
When I have a buyer purchase multiple items in a single order, eBay appears to simply add together the shipping charges as if they'll be sent individually, rather than in a single package. For example, I recently had a guy buy ten (10) magazine back issues, where I'd listed them as variations so a buyer could pick & choose. The shipping option I'd used in the listing was based on the weight of one magazine. This guy's purchase simply added together the ten individual charges. He ended up paying $75 for what amounted to 6 lbs of magazines that fit nicely in a USPS Med Flat Rate box and shipped for $17 his cost. Naturally I issued a $58 refund under the heading of "shipping discount" but I'm wondering if I did something wrong when creating the listing. I've gone back and reviewed it for possible revision but can't find anything to change that's relevant. Appreciate any ideas or suggestions.

There are various ways to set up 'graduated' shipping (weights, sizes, classes, quantities)
It would require more than one post to explain all the different ways to do it.
The easiest way is volume discounts on shipping for variation listings...(flat rate)
but, I reiterate, there are some very knowledgeable shipping gurus that frequent this forum, and chances are the answers you need are already posted up here somewhere....

Hey @grindercb . Go to your shipping preferences page and set up combined shipping rules.

Thanks, that helped. I never knew there was such a page.
