Combine Shipping Charges

i've tried messaging a seller back twice to ask if a new listing could be made to combine shipping. IT he seller told me that shipping would automatically be combined in cart but this is not true. Instead ebay chatges me four times the shipping price. The items are limited in quantity and I want to purchase before someone else does but the seller won't message me back again. Is there anything else I can do to get combined shipping from ebay instead since the seller's not responding?

eBay is not involved.  Combined shipping is something that is given by and configured by the seller, and it can be a confusing exercise for a seller to set up and/or understand.

It is best to view any purchase from the standpoint of total price.  If you have asked for a discount and it is not being provided in the cart, then you must assume that the price will be what is displayed and offered ... nothing better.  If that is satisfactory, buy it; if not, then move on.

Upper right corner of cart should have A "Request Total From Seller" box.  If that box is not there, you are probably using a mobile app to buy.  The Request Total doesn't work when using mobile app.  eBay has known about this for years, but in their infinite wisdom, have chosen to do nothing about it.
