Cod/underpaid postage

  • item costs over $200
  • Free shipping
  • Delivery due date March 2nd
  • March 3rd or 4th I opened a case "item not received"
  • Seller sends tracking info item in transit
  • Until March 5th USPS returns my calls about package
  • USPS tells me sellers sent item cod/underpaid postage
  • I have to pay over $100 in order to receive the package

how can I let eBay know an update them about the case when my case is on hold and I can't reply to them nor to the seller and I can't talk to a representative over the phone because eBay's customer service number isn't working and any other customer service number I found on Google is either not working or I cannot call from California to that number EG not a 800 number

  • Now now seller isn't responding and account profile says user no longer has accounts
  • I paid 220 for the quantity of two
  • now item has been taken down with new price of see images below

I paid USPS and got a receipt proving the underpayment of the seller will eBay issue me a refund ( item+UPS fees) Will I have to pay for returning item as well or will I get to keep item, get a full refund for item and UPS fees because sellers account is no longer active and/or because of any of the many issues listed above? Please help with my issues thank you

Re: Cod/underpaid postage

Not long ago I had a situation where I ordered something at a really good price and after a few weeks with no tracking, I looked more closely and noticed a pattern and felt I was dealing with a scammer rather than just slow mail delivery.

Anyway, I was able to report my item to eBay in the resolution center like you did.   (Eventually, I got all the messages you are showing.)  eBay told me that if they determined it was a scammer that they would close the incident in my favor and remove the listing (as it was a multiple quantity listing).  They also said that when this happens, they (eBay) would refund the money.   I asked eBay what would happen if the package eventually did arrive and they said I could keep it.

So, in your case, I would check your method of payment and see if eBay already refunded your $200 plus.    Sounds like if your package eventually did arrive, you likely get to keep it to even though you paid $100  plus more for shipping upon delivery.

Good luck ... hope the $200+ is there waiting for you.

Re: Cod/underpaid postage

You now have your item(?).  You could contact eBay via the Help Contact located at the bottom of all the pages or on Facebook (I think has better interaction) and ask. The key things would be that the seller is no longer here and the COD, not the price shown on the other postings which is in Canadian $ (C) not US so would be different. With a COD fee that high, I would have contacted eBay by one of the suggest above ways before I even picked it up.

May I suggest not using the large colored type, makes it very hard to read on the white back ground. I am sure you are unhappy and used the color to express that.
