Had a buyer request a return for an item apparently broken in transit. Item was fine when I shipped it. He asked for a specific shipping type to save on costs - large flat rate priority mail box. It was tight but well packed. It was a couple of speakers and one of the banana plug/posts broke off. I didn’t see any damage to the box in the pictures he included.
anyway, I hit “continue”on the initial return request but hadn’t seen that “accept the return” was selected by default. How can I cancel this?

You can't cancel it and a not as described claim is not something you want to fight, either.
Refund the buyer and file the USPS insurance claim. Ask the buyer to cooperate with photos and presenting the item and packaging to the USPS.
