Can you ask mail carrier to re-scan Stamps.com scan form.

I had a USPS pickup today of 30 packages. I had a Stamps.com scan form that I asked him to scan.  I saw him scan it and heard the sound, however as of now none of the packages are showing anything except the label was created. He looked young and I don't think he is that experienced, so maybe he did it wrong.  I believe he said he would be at my place tomorrow.  Would I be able to ask him to try to scan in the scan form again?

Sometimes it takes awhile for the scans to show on-line.

Wait till around 8 or 9 am and if you don't see it call your local postmaster and see if they can find it on the internal system. Also sign up for text notifications, sometimes that shakes it loose.

If the scans do not show up by tomorrow, ask him to rescan. The beep sound is not enough, after the beep they have to press another button, to confirm it (accept or enter). When there is a substitute latter carrier I always ask them whether they pressed 'confirm'.

It may take some persuading if he is not experienced, he may think that you are trying to trick him.

It looks like all the packages are showing movement, however they aren't showing as having been initially picked up, so maybe you are right and the carrier did not click the extra button. I'll ask him about it today, when he picks up my current packages.

Hypothetically if a carrier already successfully scanned a scan form, and he scans it again the next day, won't the latter scan superceed the the previous older scan? If this is true, you'd better hope you have an extra day of handling time than the time it took you to actually ship the packages out. Otherwise ebay might hit you with 30 late scanned packages.

I've done it before where the carrier came to pick up and scanned the form, but later that day I dropped off more packages to the local PO and accidentally had them scan the older scan form and it was just fine. I would assume over-scanning the same form would create tracking confusion.

I think you were right. Today I told him what you said, and I assume he did it as it looks like the packages are showing as initially accepted.

It looks like all the scans are showing up now. I think it may have been a glitch in their system.
