Can a package be sent using the same eBay shipping label twice, or is the label invalidated as soon as it is scanned by USPS? I want to print out a duplicate of a shipping label I used a while ago to return a second item to an eBay seller, rather than printing out the new shipping label. I am a buyer, if that's not clear yet.

That would be an illegal theft of service but if you don't mind getting a visit from the Postal Inspectors who are federal law enforcement agents then have at it.

What if I replace my return address with a different address, so the agents don't know who to whack?

Explanation of the prohibition of copying labels.
No. You cannot make copies of the same ship label because each label has a unique barcode and number assigned to it. Labels are also monitored for possible duplication. If a customer intentionally uses a duplicate label, they will be liable for fraud.

Nope. One bar code per shipment.

If that's an eBay return label, eBay the Permit Holder will be billed again, then ... does USPS whack their payors?

What if you just follow the rules.
If you change the return address then that is an intentional act indicative of intentional fraud and that will get you whacked even harder.

No your not supposed to do that. It will also mess up the tracking. That can be an issue with eBay.

Once a shipping label is scanned, it can NEVER be used again.

Are you too young to be on eBay or just a thief?

Ouch! I'd like an apology.

No, that would be like trying to reuse a stamp from one envelope to put it on another to mail out.
