Hi!
I haven't been to find any info on this, if someone could help I'd appreciate it.
I have some large hardcover books Im trying to sell, I'd like to use Large Flat Rate Priority Mail boxes and resize them and then use it for shipping as Media Mail, is this allowed? Or do I have to get my own custom boxes.
Thanks!

Priority Mail boxes can only be used for Priority Mail. You will have to get your own boxes.

Can I resize a flat rate box to use as regular priority mail though?

NO! The supplies the PO offers for Priority mail and for Express mail is ONLY for that class of shipping. The PO does NOT offer free shipping supplies for media mail. If you do this, the chances are pretty good that USPS is going to ding you for the cost to upgrade your MM packate to Priority mail. And if they don't charge you, they will charge the person you are shipping to.

Why would you do that? Just get a regular PM box and size it the way you need to.

The info you are looking for is on the Priority box.
Each clearly states:
This packaging is the property of the U.S. Postal Service and is provided solely for use in sending Priority Mail shipments.

They want to send it Media Mail, not Priority, so they need to supply their own packaging.
They had asked both questions. The thread started about MM. But in the COPIED post just above mine above [I'll highlight it], they asked about PM.

That’s why I deleted my answer, I can’t see it, I realized too late my reply about MM was now about Priority. Sorry about that, interesting that it still shows up to others, I see nothing under my name except that I am replying to mam, I edited it immediately.
