If I were selling say, a baseball card for about $5, is there a way to add tracking or delivery confirmation to a stamped .55 cent envelope USPS? I would be willing to go into the post office in person to do this. How much does this cost?
I'm trying to avoid shipping first class for approx . $2.66 - $3.09. I've been burned before by just shipping with the .55cent stamp and the buyer saying it did not arrive. I had no proof and had to refund.
From my research it seems like this cannot be done?

No, can't be done. Tracking (formerly known as Delivery Confirmation) is included at no additional cost when purchasing postage for packages, and is not available for separate purchase for letters or flats.
