Calculated shipping screwing me?

Why is the calculator not charging the customer enough for USPS? Since the increase I went through and changed all of my shipping from flat rate (I sell the same item all of the time) to calculated to avoid this and now it's all messed up. Some customers are over paying and some are under paying while it seems I'm still being charged flat rates in some cases. I just shipped three of the same item and lost money on two of them.

Check your settings under shipping preferences. Have you perhaps got it set up to pass the carrier discount (online pricing) to the buyer?
Reality is the leading cause of stress.

Calculated shipping screwing me?

If you give specific weights and prices, we can probably figure out what's wrong.

Some sellers have found that the shipping calculator is figuring prices for flats (AKA Large envelopes) rather than for packages.  That's easy to fix, in the shipping calculator menu for "Package type."  That's probably the issue with your two current listings that are showing $1.90 and $2.20 for postage; those are current prices for flats, whereas the minimum postage cost for a package is $2.66.  If the shipping calculator menu for "Package type" is set to "Large envelope" rather than to "Package/thick envelope," then that's what will be calculated, even if the seller has chosen "First Class package" from the menu for Service type.

First thing to do is to use the bulk editor to make sure that for all your calculated shipping items the Shipping type is set to "Package" and not envelope.

You also need to make sure that you have the correct weight in OZ INCLUDING the weight of the shipping container (box, bubble mailer, etc) in each listing where the item is being shipped First Class Package (under 1lb).

For items over 1lb you need to make sure you have the correct weight rounded up to the next lb (ie 1 lb 1 oz ships at the 2lb rate) including the weight of the shipping container AND you need to give the dimensions of the shipping container.
