I was just wondering can an ebay seller fake a tracking number?
on Ebay it says the seller is from China, but the day i ordered it, i was given the tracking number and it shows my package is already in Seattle Washington?
( i also noticed before i placed the order that it said it was suppose to be coming from California)
So idk if its coming from china? washington? california?
It says on the USPS website:
"Tracking History
March 27, 2020, 8:38 am
Arrived Shipping Partner Facility, USPS Awaiting Item
SEATTLE, WA 98168
Shipping Partner: JET E-COMMERCE LOGISTIC INC
Your item arrived at a shipping partner facility at 8:38 am on March 27, 2020 in SEATTLE, WA 98168. This does not indicate receipt by the USPS or the actual mailing date."
AND ON packagetrackr.com it shows this map when i enter my tracking number

AND THAT WAS THE LAST UPDATE GIVEN , JUST WONDERING IF THIS INFO IS CORRECT OR CAN IT BE FAKED BY A SELLER?
when i wrote to seller and asked them "How long will package take to get here and is the tracking info correct and will be updated?" they did not write me back...
(The seller has a good overall rating 98% positive)

A seller can post any tracking number he wants to a transaction. However, it won't matter in the end because buyers are protected by eBay's Money Back Guarantee. Which requires that the tracking number show delivery to the buyer's zip code by the last estimated delivery date on the listing.

In my opinion, 98% is a poor feedback rating for a seller, unless it is a very low volume seller who ran into a nasty buyer or 2. eBay feedback is so skewed towards the top that 98% isn't as good as it would appear. I question anything under maybe 99.5, and would not likely buy from 98%. Just my opinion.

Yes. And, it means that you've encountered a dishonest seller. When you are able, you need to file an Item Not Received claim.

Assuming it is a seller that sells a alot, that's not good at all. To put things in perspective, the worst sellers on eBay are about 94-95%. A rating of 98% is a "D" ... below average customer service and below average seller performance.
