CLAIMING ITEM WAS NOT RECIEVED SCAM

Recently I sold some shoes for 750$, and the buyer, who seemed very legit at a first glance with 260 refs, paid, and I thought that was that, and started to go about my normal life. Then this morning he claimed that I never sent him the package, and that nothing arrived at his doorstep, even though ebay shipping and tracking clearly said it arrived at his door. Ebay instantly says I have a negative balance in my PayPal, so I call ebay support. They were trying to be helpful, but said that on sales 750$ or above I need to get a signature for (how convenient right). They sent me a form saying I had to get a confirmation from him on a signed slip, but since I didn't send with signature (because I didn't know I had to I didn't have any proof. So I finished the call with them crying and sad. Then I looked more closely at the sellers profile, and all of his refs we so similar, it couldn't have been real people. In those 260 I found 3 messages that said SCAMMER TRIES FOR FRAUD, and coincidentally those 3 were the same people that had around 5-10 sales, whereas the rest of them had upwards of 1000-12000 Ebay instantly closed the case and reduced 750$ from my account. boom end of story, except now I will be speaking to PayPal support for the next 20 days, and make sure this guy never scams again

I agree it is theft. Glad we don't have more buyers like this out there preying on sellers. This could happen to any of us. I am sure at this very moment a scammer somewhere out there is trying to devise a plan to get around having to sign for a EBay purchase.

So does that mean the buyer should not have gotten his money back because he did not sign?
