Buyers Tying Up Payouts with Unwarranted Opening of Requests

Would it be possible to stop buyers from opening requests so soon after shipping? Economy shipping coast to coast is going to take longer than five business days in a time of pandemic lockdowns, unprecedented volume and winter weather.  I've had cases opened just days after shipping.

Perhaps ebay can make a change that keeps buyers from opening unsubstantiated cases due to longer delivery times. Buyers do not seem to understand how broken the USPS system has been since before Christmas. Economy and media mail packages can take as long as 40 days.

Maybe you should use a faster shipping method.

Have you compared the cost of Priority vs. Economy for your non-media listings? Have you considered adding a few days to your handling time to give USPS an extra few days?

If your packages are taking 40 days, you need to ship another way.

Thanks for writing. My post was intended to have ebay consider a way to keep buyers from opening requests too early in the process. They've extended seller protections to handle current delivery issues, why not just go the extra step and avoid tying up a seller's account.

Selling mostly books, so they'll always ship media mail unless over $100.

Books can get heavy.

I'll continue to ship media mail.

These days, priority mail hasn't been much quicker.
