Buyer with zero feedback as a buyer using freight forwarder?

I have a buyer who bought a high-value item from me (~$700 USD). They have feedback as a seller from 2020 but nothing since then and zero feedback as a buyer. They even have four things for sale saying they ship from China. These are also all low-value items.

About 2 months ago I sold something, not on eBay that was also high value (~$600 USD) that went to a freight forwarder where the buyer was in Peru and they reported INA with PayPal when USPS delivered it, just the forwarder claims they never got it. I even still have the case open now waiting for PayPal to decide.

Is it justifiable to cancel this order? I stated that I'm not shipping internationally in the listing but either this was ignored or not cared for. I didn't even receive a message prior to purchase, just the purchase itself. This seems like a decent risk. I may lose the $600 off of the first and I'd REALLY not want to lose the $700 off of this one also.

Your listing actually says you exclude: Barbados, French Guiana, French Polynesia, Guadeloupe, Libya, Martinique, New Caledonia, Reunion, Russian Federation, Ukraine, Venezuela. Where is the buyer located?

I'd feel a bit skiddish, too. Good luck with your decision.

Buyer with zero feedback as a buyer using freight forwarder?

Freight forwarders usually have addresses in the US, quite often in states that don't have state sales tax, like Delaware, for instance.

That's the reason this person was able to buy from you, they do have a US address, therefore, were able to bypass your shipping limits.

That listing on the 8bitdo controller I didn't put conus only since it's low value. For all of my high-value listings, I put in the description saying "Shipping to CONUS only!" And even if I did know how to restrict everywhere on that "Excludes" section I doubt it would block out someone using a freight forwarder as @soh.maryl said.

Well what you posted in your listing does not mater if your ship to preference do not match. You in that auction do not have china blocked so you ship to that country..

Only way to correctly cancel said listing is to use out of stock.... you will get a metrics ding for that.

You need to correct your listing to were you ship and do not ship.

That still would not prevent a freight forwarder address from going through. And cancelling just on the buyer using one isn't a valid reason according to eBay's policy. I only have a problem with it since the last time I shipped to one:

a. the buyer actually had history that I could rely off of

b. USPS delivered and the buyer open a claim with PP stating INA

c. that's the only time I've ever shipped to one and it got lost, and people have reported issues with them here before

ALL buyers will have a history that you can "rely off of" since buyers can be given only positive FB.

USPS delivered and the buyer opened a not as described case? Yes, the buyer can do that.

First you say, USPS delivered, then you say it got lost.  Two different transactions?

Buyer with zero feedback as a buyer using freight forwarder?

2 months ago I had a transaction outside of eBay that also used a FF address. They reported INA (item never arrived) with PayPal; they did not claim 'not as described'. That one on that platform there was a history that showed they were a reliable buyer.

Now to this current transaction. This one is using a FF with a buyer that has ZERO feedback whatsoever as specifically a buyer. He has feedback as a seller, but not since Feb. 2020. And this item sold for around $700.

Went ahead and made it to where no future listings can be purchased to addresses that are outside of NA. Thank you for bringing up that this was possible. This still will not block FF addresses though sadly.

@orpheusrefurbishing

I have my international shipping set on the highest restrictions, personally. And I have sold to buyers (with US buying addresses) that used a Freight Forwarder with no problems. That, in itself, doesn't bother me.

It's the value of your sale... I'd be skiddish shipping to someone in the US. But that's just me...

You are correct that it will not block the FF:

Yet I have sold a lot that has gone through FF and not had any problem. Knock on wood of course.

Good luck in your endeavors...
