Hi Guys
i sold a new car part in November and I made it clear the part was a non genuine aftermarket product. I sold the item and the buyer was more than happy with the part he received. ( left positive feedback etc) now after 30 days of use he isn’t happy with the quality and would like a return.
the part still works fine but has discoloured, this however may have been caused by the buyer for all I know.
ebay have, as always instantly gone in the buyers favour but when I look here I read that after 30 days he shouldn’t be able to raise a return?
is there anything I can do? If not then I’m out of pocket with a used car part I can no longer re sell.
thanks

I think your safe to refuse the return. Since 30 days has passed I do not think eBay will get involved unless your listing offered an extended warranty. Call eBay and they can tell you for sure.

Did you sell thru ebay motors? I know in many ways ebay motors handles things differently than the traditional ebay.com.
I know that with eBay.com if a buyer files a return request 30 days after they received the item (yes, they are allowed to do that), the buyer won’t have MBG on their side. Ebay conveniently will not tell you this... if you ask me they hide it from you to try and trick you into accepting or refunding the buyer.
But once the buyer files the return, there should be an option to decline the return. Ebay won’t hold it against you if you decline it. I forget, but I DO believe the buyer is still able to leave you feedback if you decline the return. Someone chime in here to confirm this please.

Since you are in the UK, you may want to ask the question on the UK site. That said, here in the US the buyer has from the date he received them to file a return request. So as @bigdeals.etc said, you could try declining the request. However, if they paid with PayPal or a credit card, they can file a dispute there for up to 180 days, in the US.
