Buyer wants to know where item is.

a buyer just wrote me asking where an item is that tracking shows was delivered on nov. 2.

Should I even respond?

I guess I can worry about a credit charge back?

Thoughts?  Thanks in advance.

Buyer wants to know where item is.

You can give them the tracking number. As far as a chargeback, you have seller protection as long as you shipped to the address on the buyers payment.

He said it shows delivered, so he must have looked at the tracking number.

i just can’t imagine what he thinks I would know.  I certainly didn’t think there was any problem after all this time.

Somtimes packages can get misdelivered, or taken from someone's porch, receptacle. You can check with the P.O. where the package was delivered but if it was a long time they probably do not have a GPS on that package anymore. Some sellers tell the person to check with their neighbors. I had a package misdelivered to a house next to mine by Fed Ex recently and found it on their porch. Generally though if tracking says delivered you are protected from an INR case on Ebay and Pay Pal.

Yeah thats weird. If a month hadn't gone by, I would suggest that maybe he was just giving you a heads up in case the package gets returned to you but its been a month, the tracking still says delivered and you don't have it either.

Here is a happy ending.  The package was at the post office.  Buyer had put a hold on packages, but not mail and forgot she had done that.  Post office will hold packages for 60days and after that will send back to sender.

Good! I guess the PO will give you more allowance if you have put your delivery on hold. Normally, they'll hold a package for two weeks before they return it.

I once had a case where UPS delivered a package to my buyer's elderly neighbor for safekeeping, who promptly forgot about it. I didn't hear from him until a month after I shipped. Back then, we didn't have the ability to upload tracking numbers to eBay and I hadn't sent it to him, so he genuinely did not know what was going on.
