Buyer wants refund on item after it was shipped

prior to recieving it they claimed they did not order it.I advised them to contact Ebay and find out if the account was compromised. I make it a practice to ask the buyer to search my listings and tell them I SHIP the next day and will delay if they need more time to take advantage of combined shipping. She contacted me too late and it was shipped. She claimed she was getting cancer treatments. I also am fighting cancer for 6 years now and I have never spent 2 days getting treatments typical medication infusions with blood workup takes 2 to 4 hours .I'm thinking she may have a case of buyer remorse. It's only a 28 dollar purchase but I do not want to eat the shipping and handling time and costs associated like promotion and listing fees final value fees ect. I think eBay has a responsibility if someone hacked the system or can be due to buyers inadequate protection of the account. I think if someone was scamming they would have picked a heavy gold jewelery item worth 7 or 800 dollars. So I don't know what to think. She did not receive the item yet. Should I contact ebay and let them know? I would think she would call ebay and the credit card companies to protect her account. I would like to know if she took these measures.It would indicate she's being truthful and I would be more likley to help her out. Any thoughts or recommendations on how to address this situation?

The bottom line is you either send a return label after receiving a confirmation that it was delivered and a request from the buyer for the return, or refund the buyer without the return. 

The other issues are up to the buyer to correct with eBay, if any. 

I pulled all my listings because I too have cancer and did not feel that I  could remain a responsible seller due to treatment.  My choice.  But with that said,  I would think about the effects of stress during treatment for yourself.  Is it worth  it? Not for me to decide,  but I would definitely think about it.

Do not refund until you receive it back.   With any luck they will never get around to sending it back.

Not sure there  story is true.   I placed an order from another computer I don't use often and right away eBay asked be to confirm it was me. So, they do check.
