I accidentally swapped mailing labels on two sold items-- I have recovered both items, have the one to its rightdul buyer, and now need to send the 2nd to ITS rightful buyer. Both contacted me, and we figured out what had happened. My dumb mistake, they were happy to get it resolved.
However, THAT 2nd buyer opened a "return" case ... but all I can see to do with eBay is to refund his money! HE doesnt want a refund-- he just wants his ITEM. Which I am trying to send to him. How do I undo eBay's hold on his original order amount on my account? Does he get his item and then HE can clear this? I don't get it when eBay's automation is not what the actual sitaution is for.
I can see NOWHERE to reposnd to eBay on the email they sent, or anywhere on site. Good god.
??!!

Refund.
Relist and have the buyer repurchase.
Maybe offer them a small discount for the mix-up.

Yikes, you seem to be in a huge mess of a situation but, at least you got 1 buyer out of the way. No worries, if the case is still open & you & the buyer have been messaging via eBay then, you will simply contact eBay & tell them the situation & kindly ask them to close the case. Of course they can not close the case without the buyers consent but, the messages should be more than enough proof to be able to close out the case. If you can not do it then, kindly ask the buyer to contact eBay & the buyer can close the case. Once it has been closed you will simply ship the item to the buyer & that settles that.
