Hello ebay sellers. Maybe you can help me on this matter. A buyer bought a Sunbeam mixer with bowls and beaters. I showed on this aution the whole items as listed together. Buyer won the auction and I had it shipped out by UPS. When the package arrived the mixer stand was broken. I started a return for the buyer to send all of its contents back to me. The buyer started emailing me that I had to pay for a replacement that she bought on ebay for just the one item. The buyer told me to give her $20.00 and that is what she wanted. I called ebay and they told me I could not give her a partial claim since the return claim was started. I had to buy a label they told me for her to send it back. Ebay would not even cancel the label. Then when the buyer get notice from ebay. The buyer informed me that she is only sending me one item and will keep the other items on this listing. The mixer stand broke and the buyer has told me to watch my mail that is all the buyer will send back. Never since I have selling on ebay have I been called so many names from this buyer. I even offered to file a claim with UPS and the buyer cancelled the pickup. Ebay generated a label for USPS. So I expect that is what I will get sent back just one item and the buyer keeps the rest. I am an honest seller and try to accomodate every one. Monday the item will arrive and I am sure that the buyer just can rip me off by sending just the stand and the buyer gets her refund in full. Let me know if anyone out there can help. Personally I am just going to stop selling on ebay, if more of these buyers are scamming ebay.

Well, Your first mistake was you "started a return for the buyer", once eBay steps in it, you (and the buyer) are bound by the terms.
Since you have it in writing (I assume in eBay messages) that the "buyer ... is only sending me you one item and will keep the other items on this listing", once that happens you should be able to call eBay and get them to close that case in your favor. The buyer is required to return everything, not cherry pick. Simply post picks to the case of everything that was returned (I would post the unopened box too, not that it means anything), post a picture of the weight (the weight you sent and the weight you got back), report the buyer, block the buyer and then call eBay and talk to a US (no accent) rep and ask them to close the case in your favor right then and there while you're on the phone with them. It may take a number of try's. DON'T let the case timeout though. DON'T ask eBay to "Step in" (aka escalate) or help you, eBay is not the sellers friend.
At that point you should'nt have to issue the refund.
BTW, This sounds like a classic fishing story for a partial.

Cased was closed today. It was found in my favor. Buyer did not send back the same item. After taking pictures of the item and the weight of the package. I loaded up all pics and send them to ebay. I opening a case on ebay against the buyer. I do not have to refund the buyer. Although they at ebay are refunded the buyer a one time request. The buyer should not be abusing the system on returns. Thanks for letting me know about the case..
