Buyer said item doesnt seem authentic

So, I sold a pair of shoes last week, and the buyer said it is not authentic. He didnt provide any detail or evidence, and I know it is 100% authentic cuz I purchased it from official website. I dont accept returns but I cant decline this request. I do worry about he would send me a fake one back. Is there any way to decline it? I can provide the purchase info or receipt. And it seems like even the buyer dont accept return, buyers just need to select "doesnt match description" and seller cant reject it anyway.

You still have to refund the buyer no matter what.

This is wrong in so many ways. I don't care what policy states, in this case, i would call ebay before refunding. Possibly he filed an item not as described case? Call them now. The ibots can't do anything except follow policy that has been programmed into them. Talk to a person. The more I read about these issues of "hopelessness" the more crazy it seems. At least set up a return so you can get the shoes back before return funds are issued.

If you don't accept returns, and a buyer wants to return the item, then they need only to be dishonest and select one of the reasons that will over-ride your no return policy ... "not authentic" is one of those reasons.

Yes, sometimes a dishonest buyer will also switch out the shoes, but most of the time they just want to return the item.

After you receive the item back, it takes just a few moments to report this buyer as abusing the Money Back Guarantee policy (you will see this option on your completed returns screen).  Hopefully eBay will do something about bad buyers like this should enough sellers report this behavior.

The OP hasn’t even accepted the return and gotten the item back. So why should the OP call eBay now? The burden of proof is never on the buyer. The OP needs to accept the return and go from there. If he calls he’s going to the usual treatment-an agent that says he can see its buyers remorse & who encourages him to ask eBay to step in when the time comes & assures him he will win. And if OP follows that advice, he’ll lose.
