I hope someone can help out with this.
I sold a used 14K rope chain and the only defect was a loose strand.
I didn't include this in the description, but I did take a detailed photo of it in the listing.
Recently the buyer made a return request because; "They tried fixing it or something it’s hanging on by a thread in one section so they tried fixing it or they knew it was about to break. Either way it’s noticeable I detected it instantly and fir that kind of money I don’t need it".
The photos that were sent shows significant damage to one section that's very noticeable, but it isn't present in the original photo listing.
After reaching out asking how the link broke, the buyer replied saying that he doesn't know and that it arrived like that.
So i'm stuck, because I know this damage wasn't there before being sold and most likely was caused by him or whoever tried "fixing" it, but I never mentioned the specific condition of it.
Am I eligible for a partial return of 50% (according to eBay's seller return policy), or am I wasting time and just accept the full return since eBay will most likely side with him in a case.

**PHOTOS 3 & 4 ARE FROM BUYER**

You really should have mentioned the damage and posted it at the top of the listing description. This should have been listed as parts/repair or scrap (whatever condition they call it in jewelry). The original pictures look about the same as the buyers photos. That is just my opinion, others may feel differently.

You're right, I don't know why I didn't in the first place. Regardless its gonna be resold as scrap, which sucks considering gold spot price is tanking faster every day.

Your words......."
and the only defect was a loose strand.
I didn't include this in the description,"
You knowingly sold something defective, you got back something defective.

Update:
I accepted the refund, and I'll provide a full refund.
Regardless if he damaged it or if I did, bottom line is I'm in the wrong for not declaring the condition of it in words.
I guess you learn better from your mistakes..
