Buyer requested cancellation through messages

So I'm new to selling and can't find anything on this exact process. But basically a buyer bought something from me. They paid for it and an hour later messaged me to cancel it. It's already a bad situation because I had other buyers interested but now I can't relist yet. I cancelled and refunded them as requested but it's been like 3 days and the cancellation is still pending even though paypal took the money back already. I requested the buyer to put in a formal cancellation and they just responded by saying "don't worry it takes a while." But it's not fine because my other potential buyers have probably already moved on and I can't relist until it goes through. What do I do?

Relist.

That's the problem. I can't relist until it's not pending anymore and it's still saying pending because the buyer won't put in for an official cancellation on her end.

Select "sell similar" ... it is the way you "relist" when experiencing this log-jam.

I had considered that but wasn't sure if it violated any policies or not. That and whenever it hits the default time and releases the original I'd have almost a duplicate listing. Suppose I could just take one down afterward. Thank you for the reply.
