Buyer originally wanted to return item and started a case. He now wants to cancel return.

 I feel taken and this has ruined my whole weekend. I sold a pair of very expensive designer sunglasses. The day they were scheduled to arrive the buyer asked for a refund.  When they received the package they never messaged me as I had asked that they message me. After they recieved the item,  they then stated they want to keep the Sunglasses and where sorry about the confusion. Question, do they automatically get a refund? How can I get the hold off my funds? I've asked them to cancel the return request and they won't.

If you have a message from your buyer that  they want to keep them and cancel the return, you should call CS to see if they can do anything.  Otherwise, you will have to wait out the 30 days or so for the return to automatically close  which will close the return without a refund.  During that 30 days, you will receive numerous message from eBay asking you if you have received the item back.
