hi i recently sold my old phone it was a Samsung galaxy s9+ and was in very good condition.
The buyer got it by buy it now for £155 ,he paid straight away so the next day I posted it to him by royal mail, signed for next working day and give him tracking number. The next day he said he had received it but sim tray would not open ( but I know it worked perfectly) so he started a return and provided me with a tracking number off royal mail. The tracking number he gave me doesn't work on royal mail website it says invalid tracking number , ive messaged him 3 times now and he hasn't replied and my phone hasnt arrived either, so now I have no phone and my money has gone from my PayPal?

You're on the USA site, but if rules are the same- why would money be gone from paypal. Did buyer open case on ebay or paypal? Did you respond? If tracking doesn't work, it won't work for PP or Ebay to 'refund' the customer (maybe your $ is just being 'held' in paypal while the return is being done?)

As the poster below mentioned, your funds are on hold. If the tracking is not valid the buyer will not get the refund as he/she cannot show that the returned item was delivered to you. You need to monitor the status of the return and follow the instructions that PP (or ebay) sent you when they informed you about the return. Also go to PP site and check their help pages (search for ' returns' ) to learn about the proper procedures and so don;t miss certain deadlines.
