I sold a macbook on ebay to a seller with good reviews. I was payed and it shipped and was delivered (1/9/18). Several days later after they received it, they said it was stuck in a boot loop (1/12/18) AFTER WORKING for a few days. I sent them a guide on how to fix that.
Today (1/24) they claim they took it to the apple genius bar and claims it needs a new SSD. They want a full return.
This is crazy. The laptop was in perfect conditon when I sent it. Sounds to me like they messed it up somehow since it was working for a few days. I do not want to accept this return since it was not damaged when it was sent or when delived. Now it's a game of 'he said'. What should I do? How can I be responsible if it stops working AFTER working on their watch?

How old was the SSD?
Did you do a SMART test or any test to check the disk's health?

2015 Mac. I did not run a smart test; should've. However it was my laptop that worked 100% of the time without an issue ever so I'd be pretty surprised if it happened to fail now.

How did you ship it? Did you double-box it and use the original box with corner braces? mg152 is correct — a problem with shipping electronics is that normal shaking can jar something loose. That's why the braces can be crucial.

Yeah it was shipped in original box inside another with tons of bubble wrap.
They said it was working fine for several days after they received it, so sounds like it wasn't related to shipping.
