I think some buyers will claim they did not receive their shipment if you do not use tracking numbers. They wait several weeks, file a complaint, most people don't keep the reciepts for very long so you have no proof, you are out your item and have to refund their money. There needs to be a way to track these people who are scamming the system and expose them. I would name the buyer now but don't know what E-Bay would say about me doing that. I am sure other people have experienced the same thing

If you don't use a trackable service, what would a receipt prove? That you purchased postage?
To win an Item Not Received, you need tracking.
If you are buying postage at the post office that is trackable, you simply upload that tracking number to eBay.

If you enter the tracking number and as soon as you ship it this does not happen.
If you ship using a non packable method you are asking for this to happen.

That's not a buyer scam, that's a basic feature of the seller protection policy. If you print your postage through eBay, it costs less and he tracking number is automatcially uploaded to the transaction. At the very least, hang onto your receipts.

I think some sellers will never ship, then claim they shipped without tracking.
The whole point of tracking is to solve that dilemma. Sellers that ship without tracking are taking a risk.
