Buyer Returns Damaged item

Hello,

Buyer Returns Damaged item. They now want a refund because they didn't read that is was sold for parts or not working.  But they damaged the item even more and used it. What should I do. How do I close the return request?

I'm a little confused ...

  • First, you offer 30-day free returns, so it doesn't matter whether or not they read the listing correctly.  They can return it for any reason, including it arrived on a full moon.
  • Second, how does one "use" something that is broken?  I'm assuming that they tried to connect it up, which would be expected for any electronic part.

Sometimes people buy stuff that is claimed to be broken in order to figure out if it is something simple to fix.  Since you have a 30-day free return policy, then it is a no-risk purchase for someone who is doing this.

Generally, I would assume that you refund the full amount.

But, what exactly was "damaged even more" with the item?
