Buyer Requesting Room Number Be Added To Address?

Hello! I have a question that I can’t seem to find the answer to so far. A buyer purchased and paid for one of my items, shortly after the transaction I received a message asking if I could add a room number to the second address line, as eBay would not allow him to type it since it took up too much room (it is going to be shipped to an extended stay hotel - the hotels full title is quite long and they require it along with the room number to be on the label when accepting guest packages).

The address entered into eBay matches the address the buyer requested me to update aside from the room number. If I add this in while creating the label, will this void any protections? It seems genuine and not a scam, but I’ve never had anything like this happen so I am unsure how to proceed. Any help is appreciated.

The probability is that if you do NOT add the room number it will be returned as "insufficient address:. I know - I have had it happen. Merely adding a room number should not void any protections. But if you are concerned you could always write it along the border of the label, (Bold print so it can not be missed),.

Buyer Requesting Room Number Be Added To Address?

I had issues with my old address with eBays first system back in '04. I lived at XXXXX Lafayette Township Road 509. The system would cut off the 09 on the end. If I abbreviated ANYTHING it would come up as a invalid address. I messaged the sellers (it was all I could do) and I contacted eBay about the issue at least once a week.

With not only working for USPS but actually at the time being the sub on my own mail route, if the items were shipped USPS there wasn't a problem. UPS and FedEx packages always ended u returned as a bad address.

I would add the room number as requested.

No need to wonder -- get out your Sharpie and add it by hand after you print the label.

Also, if it was too long for him to enter, it will almost certainly be too long for you to enter, also, so the question would be moot.
