I sold a Chase Varient FUNKO Pop of Weaponized Rick worth $25. The box was damaged in shipping and the buyer had sent pics and requested a refund. I went through with the refund and he returned the item but he swapped a few things. He sent me the damaged box, but inside was a non-chase variant of the item(worth $6) and you can even see the outline of the Chase sticker on my box where he removed it and likely put it on a box of his own. For those unfamiliar with Chase variants and FUNKO Pop, they're neat little bobble-heads of pop culture figures and sometimes special versions get made called "Chase variants". Most chase just have color differences or a different pose, and a sticker on the box but the box itself is the same.
So, I'm guessing he had a non-chase variant of the figure, bought my Chase and swapped everything then asked for a return.
I opened q case against him but it was immediately closed without so much as a day going by. So I had to lay for initial shipping and return shipping ($12) and I'm stuck with a basic product in a broken box.

One review was from him, and I'm thinking the other was a similiar case because it was posted not long and for the same reason. Either way, I feel I'm getting scammed by people and this site as a whole

I agrea as you have people online all day grabing posts and throwing out twitter style quips when they have no idea at all what you just went through.
My rule comes from an old Looney Tunes Cartoon "No ticky, no laundry".
Until you have the item in your hands paid for by the buyer including the cost to send it back if that's how you left it. No merchandise, no money and ebay will back you up. Too many are sitting all day giving out negitive advise to get some sort of brownie point. I got three for sticking up for myself. I do not know what they mean.
You never know if you are dealing with a crook that would do what they did and you are within your rights to have them ship it back and have it in your hands to inspect it before you push refund. To be sure, check if return shipping needs to be paid by you up front. I can not imagine why though given all the people that do this kind of caun all their lives.

Sorry to say, but get used to it. This is ebay, and that is the quality of buyers you are going to run into. As you have already found out, ebay makes this little scam easy and fool proof. Hopefully you will only run into a few of these every 100 sales or so, because as ebay likes to remind people when they call to complain, ' it's the cost of doing business (on ebay) '
