Beware receiving item not requested, and uncooperative seller regarding return.

I ordered an 40 oz water bottle, was sent a 32 oz (w/o my authorization). When I requested an exchange or refund, I was told to print a return label.  I can NOT do that. I have no working printer, even if it was I can't afford the ink cartridge. I told that to the seller AND to Ebay customer service.  I simply asked the seller send me a return label via USPS (simple/cheap), seller refused and Ebay customer service closed my case, ignoring my simple request as well.  Shame on Ebay customer service, especially.  Buyers beware !!

Thanks for the "quick shopping insight".  I won't forget it and I won't buy from anyone with such a 98% or less rating.  Thanks again.

Most libraries have printers you can use for free.  There are also printing capabilities at office supply and service companies like Office Depot, Kinkos, FedEx, etc.

One other option is to take your package to the USPS and purchase postage there.  In this case, you will be paying for the return shipping and you will not be reimbursed for the shipping.

Quick shopping insight:  a volume seller with a 98% feedback rating usually provides poor customer service.  Though it might cost you another dollar or two, you will typically have fewer frustrations if you focused on sellers that had much higher feedback ratings.

I see that this seller seems to have a problem understanding the difference between 32 oz  and 40 oz as you are not the first person to complain via feedback about this.

Unfortunately, you do have some responsibilities as a buyer - you are expected to print the seller provided return label,  package the return, and either drop it at the post office or leave it for a carrier. It's part of being a buyer here on eBay.  It's not always ideal, but it is what it is.

Your return got closed because you did not return the item. You can't expect to keep the item and the money when your seller provides you with a return label via the methods that eBay outlines for sellers. eBay does not require a seller to provide a buyer with a hard copy return label, regardless of the reason for the return.

In my jurisdiction, although public libraries have reopened, due to the health risk associated with covid 19, the public is prohibited from entering the building, computer access & printing is not  available to the public.

Seller provided you with return postage label

the fact that you do not have access to a printer is not really sellers fault

I have the same problem ,I do not have access to a printer so I do understand your situation there but seller is not required to fulfill special request due to you printer problem and no as of today no local public libraries are open for me to print the sellers  shipping label

When I have to return an item I go to the post office and purchase  postage and tracking get a receipt and  request reimbursement from seller

eBay only sees that you did not return/respond to the case and so closed it in sellers favor

Thank you.  I DO understand what all you've said here.  I just think it's **bleep** (unethical) of Ebay Customer Service to restrict returns to such a narrow path. I'm physically unable to go out and do these things you suggested to return this item. No one to go for me.  A simple (price of a postage stamp) return label sent to me is the most RATIONAL method of returning an item and Ebay C S doesn't agree with that.  It tells me that Ebay C S is BIASED in favor of sellers.  That's no way to do ethical business !  Customers are NOT stupid and Ebay loses business with such questionable tactics, don't you agree?

Thank you.  I do appreciate anyone who "thinks past the end of their noses". Although I did appreciate the other person's reply, as well.  Things are not always as simple as they might appear.

How can a seller pretend to care about their customers when a simple postage paid return label mailed to me is too much to do?  I will NEVER buy from that seller again, for obvious reasons.  Nor can I recommend anyone else does either. Or any seller with such lack of true concern for their customers.  I was in business for a long time, and I know what is and is not "good business" practices.

I contend the seller tried to 'pull a fast one on me'.  The box it came in said "40 oz" yet had been blacked out with a magic marker (still easily visible though).  I used a kitchen measuring cup to fill the bottle with water, it ONLY held 32 oz. to the top.  The seller knew the difference and was hoping I'd just accept the substitution (w/o even notifying me of the substitution or asking me if that was ok).  I'm not stupid, yet I have to keep the bottle they sent, apparently.  "Elephants never forget" and neither do I.  Their unethical actions will catch up with them in time - KARMA.  Customers are not stupid.

Ebay clearly has room for(self) improvement, I trust you agree?
