Got a notice today,
Upgraded shipment, increased the cost $30.00 (According to FedEx my label says 251 ounces. Actual billable weight according to FedEx was 16 lbs...Their dimensions matched mine)...SO, they added $30 to the shipment cost and I have no real way of disputing it. Yeah, do that math.......
Another $30 upgrade claimed my label stated 216.69 ounces.
Actual billable weight according to FedEx was 216.70 ounces.
SERIOUSLY?? It is IMPOSSIBLE for me to enter .69 ounces on a label.

Hey @redlinear . If you contact eBay CS they can tell you the reason for the upcharge (weight, dim, nonstandard pkg, etc) and they can file an appeal if you believe the charge was in error.

To contact customer service there are a few options. Use the chat (type 'agent' in the chat box) or the call back features on the left side of this page: https://www.ebay.com/help/contact_us?id=4002&st=10
Other option is contacting eBay CS through social by sending a DM to ebayforbusiness on facebook or askebay on twitter.

Fedex rates have become hugely uncompetitive now that ups lowered there rates to mate usps advantage..... i suspect that the recent uptick in overcharges and back charges is to compensate for the drop-off in people using fedex. It is not morally or ethically right and should be illegal- probably is but who is going to stop them?- best thing is to vote with your dollars- stop using fedex until they get the picture- like with bud-light lol!
A large part of the problem is the contractual deals that ebay makes with theses companies- they are set up to protect ebay and the shippers while making provisions to **bleep** the sellers of their hard earned money- no other business can randomly and without cause or proof just charge you more for a product 2 weeks after the fact!

I absolutely detest FedEx in its current state.

You are correct, FedEx and other shippers can upgrade (wrongly) and there's nothing a person can do about it.
I've dropped shipping companies in the past and later regretted it though.
Used to FILL the UPS truck daily. Got to where they would just leave a trailer here and trade trailers each evening. Never made any claims either.
Got upset over several back to back to back to back issues and dropped them and went with FedEx.
Filled the FedEx truck daily for several years then.
You would think losing that kind of business would mean something? But, UPS sure didn't seem to care.
